Introduction
Doctor Harry Martin Lincoln became an unannounced part of our family life in 1969, when we bought his home, some thirty two years after his death. In 2020 he began his active role when the Wilton Historian invited us to enter his home in the 2nd Annual Wilton House Tour. The frantic scrambling to collect information for the tour opened a floodgate and Doc roared in. He returned to his home and again become a resident; maybe he never left? He has totally shaped my retirement and because of my “addiction” has impacted the lives of my family and MANY of my friends and his descendants.
I was born with a personality that became very logical, rational, calm and agnostic. At home with my education as both an educator and scientist (prove it). I now set in Doc’s front parlor where he was laid out for his wake and funeral, which is now my den, typing this introduction. I am completely comfortable with the belief that Doc and many other Lincoln relatives have played a major role in what I have done, and where I am today. After all, why did I buy the only house in the United States that could have started all of this?
